Big project combining a remix, geometry nodes, rigging and more.
About the audio animation, I exported the individual Trumpet, Trombone, Bari Sax + Brass to animate the piranha band. Sound affected the height for controller objects, turned to keyframes by baking the action. Keyframes could then be manipulated. The amount was halved and interpolation changed to Bezier, to smoothen things a bit. These affected key bones that affected others via constraints. The controllers where duplicated and their keyframes halved again, this time having a mild effect on the scale of character heads. Most looping animations where simply made with Built-In Function Modifiers, offset to make motion blend in a more fun way.
All characters and assets are 100% self-made, from the grass blades to Question Blocks and Fire Flowers. Leaves and blue flowers are reused from the above forest remix. I actually made a standard Piranha Plant that'd open its mouth but also make a whistling shape with its lips. Initially I'd have two of them for the trumpet and trombone, with a 2D Bowser Jr. at the sax, but I changed my mind. At first I also thought of Fury Bowser chasing the characters towards the camera, akin to Crash Bandicoot chase sequences... but that was a bit too ambitious. For now!
Animation and music arrangement, utilizing geometry nodes, audio-driven motion etc.
